The 1st image below (photo by Max Ortiz) appeared on the front page of The Detroit News newspaper on Jan. 29th. As many know, Detroit is full of homeless people and indeed a cold place to be living on the streets. These legs belonged to a man by the name of Johnnie Redding who once roamed the streets until his life came to an end in this 5 feet of frozen water. Poor Johnnie remained dead here for a month before being reported to the authorities. A hockey game even took place by Johnnies legs.
I'm pretty sure this photo will be in the top 10 pictures of the year. Full story here: http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090129/METRO08/901290400

Head over to http://lavarbrand.com/lavar/index.html for a browse and check this photo of Dan (a bit altered by graphics man Juse) laying it down in Bilbao, Spain at one of the many luxurious stops of their (JB VanOrman, Pat Kempany, Dan Closser) 5 week vacay through Southern Europe in 07'. I've never known Dan to be much of a wine connaisseur, but I'm pretty sure his trip flatty's were inspired by tasty cheap wine and many "a Neil Young sesh" along the journey. Check the intro of this vid (2008) and you can see some Northwestern High School action from Levi Brown. Also another clip of Hart Plaza and the Jaguar rollers later on. Strange a pro skater would seek spots out in Detroit (if that were the case) that are few and far between especially when dude hails from Fountain Hills, AZ. This clip was not in the Element DVD 'This Is My Element'. Pretty sweet nonetheless. Getting tired of your iPod? Stumbled across this one on http://www.flickr.com Although Allen Iverson may not be living up to the Pistons/fans expectations with his numbers thus far, I'm still excited to have him as a Piston. Here's a look at some of my fav jerseys from his NBA career. Pics courtesy of eBay. Cityfest summer 08'. These pics taken from the parking structure after http://parliamentfunkadelic.georgeclinton.com/ came on stage and did his thing. That was only one mound of garbage... Ever thought about when recycling you could make a fresh pair of kicks from the rumble? Well, this UK company's got ya covered. Though not connected, also check out http://tomsshoes.com/ |
